March may be Women’s History Month but the
women of New York City can continue to make history
throughout the year. That’s why, in
the spirit of fostering community leadership among young people across New York
City youth, ages 12-18, are invited to participate in the NYC Young Women's Volunteer Summit on
Saturday, April 4, 2009 from 9:30AM -
3:30PM. The day will be hosted by the Mayor's Volunteer Center of NYC, the
NYC Commission on Women's Issues, and the nonprofit organization Children for
Children®. The event will involve a morning of
educational workshops and panel discussions about women's issues provided by
community leaders. In the afternoon, participants will engage in hands-on
service projects that will benefit women throughout the five boroughs of
NYC.
