The Best People in NYC
award, created in 2006, highlights and celebrates the contributions and
dedication of NYC’s nonprofit community. Sponsored once again by Snapple,
this is an opportunity for the Mayor’s Volunteer Center (MVC) to recognize an
amazing nonprofit organization once a month, beginning in January 2008.
The program informs New Yorkers about great organizations and the wonderful
people who run them, volunteer at them and help make them
great!
Staff members, clients and volunteers from
the nonprofit organizations featured on www.VolunteerNYC.org wanted to tell the world about the fantastic work being done
at their sites. The following 12 people and 12 organizations listed below were selected
as Snapple’s Best People in NYC for 2008. Not only are they all being featured on our web site but each
of the nonprofits will receive a $1,000 donation from Snapple. In addition, each winning organization, and the person who nominated them, will also receive an invitation to a special Snapple recognition event.
