Mayor's Office for People with Disabilities - Guardianship Info / Financial Planning

When a child with Developmental Disabilities becomes 18 years old, parents are no longer considered the legal guardians. If the child continues to need supervision and guidance as an adult, parents may wish to establish legal guardianship before the child reaches age 18. The following organizations provide this service, as well as information and advice on providing for their child’s future financial needs.
