This year's parade takes place on Thursday,
November 24 from 9 am-12 pm, once again showcasing
a world-famous cast of characters featured in fabulous
floats and giant signature balloons.
GIANT BALLOON INFLATION
See the balloons being inflated on Wednesday,
November 23 starting at approximately 3 pm (until 10 pm) on both
sides of the American Museum of Natural History, 77th
Street and 81st Street between Central Park West and
Columbus Avenue. Bring your family out to see floating
stars come to life!
PATH OF THE THANKSGIVING DAY PARADE
The parade starts at 77th Street and Central
Park West, travels south on Central Park West to Central Park South, heads east on Central Park South to 7th Avenue, travels south on 7th Avenue to 42nd Street, heads east on 42nd Street to 6th Avenue, travels south on 6th Avenue to 34th Street, and then heads west on 34th Street to Herald Square where it ends at 34th
Street and 7th Avenue.
VIEWING
To ensure a good viewing location, get there early.
People arrive as early as 6:30 am.
Parade Start: 9 am
Parade End: 12 pm
Recommended public viewing locations are Central Park West, Central Park South, 7th Avenue between 59th and 48th Streets, or 6th Avenue between 42nd and 34th Streets. Times Square is not a recommended viewing location.

• THERE ARE NO TICKETS SOLD.
• Holiday parking rules will be in effect (learn
more about parking and driving restrictions below).
• Wednesday, November 23, is a gridlock
alert day (in PDF); use public transportation. Learn
about commuting options.
• Leave folding chairs at home and dress in layers.
THANKSGIVING DAY HOLIDAY CLOSINGS INFORMATION
• All Federal, New York State, and New York
City Agency offices are closed.
• All NYC
public schools are closed.
• There is no mail delivery, and post offices are
closed.
• Alternate Side Parking
regulations are suspended Thursday, November 24 for Thanksgiving Day. Because Thanksgiving Day is a major legal holiday, parking meter regulations are also suspended. On major legal holidays, stopping, standing, and parking are permitted, except in areas where stopping, standing, and parking rules are in effect seven days a week (for example, "No Standing Anytime").
• There is no
garbage collection or recycling pickup in New York
City, and there will be no street cleaning.
THANKSGIVING DAY HOLIDAY TRANSPORTATION SERVICE
• New York City subways
and buses will be on a holiday (Sunday service) schedule.
• Staten
Island Ferry will operate on a Holiday schedule.
Service will be provided every 30 minutes from 7
am to 11 pm. Hourly service will then resume.
• Staten
Island Railway will be on a Sunday schedule.
• The Long
Island Rail Road will be on a Holiday schedule.
• PATH will
be on a Saturday schedule.
• Over Thanksgiving weekend (Wednesday, November 23 through Sunday, November 27), MTA services will operate on special schedules.
