The Flavorpill Fix - Episodes

Episode 1 - Watch on Demand!
In this episode, we feature live performances from three unique trios who each use their spare line-ups to great effect, Future Islands and Double Dagger, both from Baltimore, playing Death by Audio in Brooklyn and New Jersey's Screaming Females performing at the NYU
Strawberry Festival. We caught up with all three bands and talked about everything from their favorite places to grab a bite on the road to the new artists they're most excited about. Plus music videos from up and coming Brooklyn band MiniBoone (Brooklyn, NY) and Hammock (Nashville, TN).

Episode 2 - Watch on Demand!
This episode features two of our favorite multilingual acts, Berlin-based electro-pop sensations Stereo Total (who also share a new video) and Brooklyn francophiles Les Sans Culottes, perform at Le Poisson Rouge in NYC. Plus new music videos from Brooklyn based siblings The Fiery
Furnaces, NY noir rockers The Vandelles and indie rock veterans Superchunk.

 Episode 3 -Watch on Demand
In this episode, we'll visit performances by two of our favorite new bands, Brooklyn's Bow Ribbon's and Philly's Grandchildren, and check out music videos by The New Pornographers, Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti and New York's own Sabrina Chap.

Episode 4 - Watch on Demand
For this episode, we handed curatorial duties over to New Jersey's own Titus Andronicus. We caught up with them at their Northside Festival Performance and also in rehearsal at Brooklyn independent venue and practice space Shea Stadium, where we chatted with them about some of their favorite bands. Featured bands include Ducktails, The So So Glos, Andrew Cedermark and Solanin.

Episode 5 - Watch on Demand
This installment of the Flavorpill Fix is a collaboration with our pals at Animation Block Party, New York’s wildest and most wonderful animation film festival. This special episode pairs some of Block Party’s best shorts with animated videos we love, featuring everyone from Mark Ronson to Jeffrey and Jack Lewis to Boca Chica.

Episode 6 - Watch on Demand
This episode was not only curated, but conceptualized and created entirely by one of Brooklyn’s most fiercely independent, original, and just plain fun punk bands, the mighty Japanther. The duo of Ian Vanek and Matt Reilly collected videos and commissioned live footage from some of their favorite acts — Cerebral Ballzy, Soft Circle, and Ghost Mall — and then conducted and animated interviews with those musicians.

Episode 7 - Watch on Demand
If you’re familiar with Xiu Xiu (http://xiuxiu.org/) , you know that the band is always pushing limits.  So, when we asked Jamie Stewart to curate an episode of the Flavorpill Fix, we expected he’d have some challenging recommendations in store.  The resulting episode, anchored by gorgeous Xiu Xiu performance footage and Stewart’s intelligent observations about his band and the wide range of music that influences it, exceeded even our high expectations. Featuring a rare and epic performance by underground avant-garde heroes Master Musicians of Bukkake, and a kaleidoscopic, electro-pop Fischerspooner clip, this edition of the Fix is as strange, original, and absorbing as the band that curated it.
