TED TALKS IN NYC – FEATURING WORLD-RENOWNED TALKS FROM TED.COM – PREMIERES ON NYC LIFE

March 15, 2012 - On Wednesday, March 21 at 8:30pm, NYC life (Channel 25) will debut TED Talks in NYC, a new television show featuring world-renowned talks created by TED, the nonprofit devoted to “ideas worth spreading.” NYC Media, the official network of the City of New York, has licensed the use of the talks through TED’s Open TV pilot, an experimental program that has allowed broadcasters to air talks featuring a host of fascinating thinkers and authors.

THE MAYOR’S OFFICE OF MEDIA & ENTERTAINMENT LAUNCHES MEDIA PARTNERSHIP WITH KINGSBOROUGH COMMUNITY COLLEGE FOR TWO STUDENT MADE SPECIAL PROGRAMS March 2, 2012 - The Mayor’s Office of Media & Entertainment (MOME) announced the launch of two thirty minute specials featuring the arts and cultural life in Brooklyn. The two programs were created by in partnership with Kingsborough Community College, Councilman Domenic Recchia and with the support of the Editors and Cinematographers Guilds. The first of the two shows will air this weekend on Sunday, March 4th at 7pm on NYC life (Channel 25).

Statement from NYC Media on France 24’s Decision Not to Maintain Partnership on NYC Life
March 1, 2012 - After a terrific run, France 24 has decided they are no longer able to maintain their presence on NYC life (Channel 25). While we are obviously disappointed to lose such a renowned partner, we will continue to air international news shows like BBC International, RAI Italian, DW Journal and US Polsat, which has moved to 7pm.
Additionally, we welcome other programmers who would like to lease time from the City. We value being a home to so many diverse groups for New Yorkers whether it is on NYC life, NYC World or on the radio on 91.5FM.

 September 30, 2011 - Mary Ann Wilson, host of the nationally televised exercise series Sit and Be Fit which airs locally on NYC life, led a live outdoor, group exercise for local seniors in Central Park. As part of “Fitness Fridays” at “Scene @ Tavern on the Green,” more than fifty seniors came from local senior centers and were treated to an hour-long exercise under the canopy of trees on the terrace of Tavern on the Green.
