NEW PSA ENCOURAGES LOCALS TO HELP FELLOW NEW YORKERS IN NEED FOLLOWING HURRICANE SANDY
November 14, 2012 - In an effort to help local residents affected by Hurricane Sandy, a new PSA encourages New Yorkers to lend a hand by visiting www.NYC.gov or by donating to the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City. The PSA, which features Mayor Bloomberg, is currently running on NYC life (Channel 25) as well as the City’s radio station 91.5FM. It will also be available to view in taxi cabs. The PSA was produced by NYC Media, the official network of the City of New York.
“People from across the City and around the country have come forward to support those hardest hit by the hurricane, and together, we’ll bring our City back stronger than ever,” Mayor Bloomberg says in the PSA.
One hundred percent of donations to the Mayor’s Fund are being dispersed to relief efforts and organizations. The City is currently identifying immediate aid needs, including food, water and hygiene supplies, as well as long-term relief and restoration efforts.
