EMMY-AWARD WINNING $9.99 RETURNS WITH NEW HOST DAVE EVANS, AIRS ON TUESDAYS AT 8:30PM ON NYC LIFE
SHOW PREMIERES ON OCTOBER 5 WITH LOW COST ACTIVITIES

$9.99 is back on NYC life (Channel 25) with a new season and new host - Dave Evans. The Emmy award-winning show premieres on Tuesday, October 5 at 8:30pm. NYC life is the flagship station of NYC Media, the official network of the City of New York. $9.99 will feature different places, food and New York City moments, all for under ten dollars. With a true five borough scope, the show finds the best gems in the City and brings them to a wide audience. The show returns to entertain viewers but also to help them find different ways to experience the City at the lowest possible costs.

The first episode features the Louis Armstrong Museum, the Lemon Ice King of Corona and a Bocce game with local players, all set in Queens. Whether New Yorkers want to explore a neighborhood affordably, or tourists are looking for the quintessential New York, this show will have something for everyone looking to get the biggest bang for their buck.

“NYC Media could not be more proud to bring $9.99 back to the people of New York City,” said Diane Petzke, General Manager of NYC Media, “In a time when people are making household budgeting decisions every day, we want to give New Yorkers more options and let them know how they can do more with less in a fun, exciting and, we hope, meaningful way. This show has been a staple in this City for years and having the opportunity to bring it back to NYC life Channel 25 - as well as on our online platforms from our Video on Demand player to Twitter and Facebook or on mobile devices, is a wonderful accomplishment for the whole team at NYC Media.”

Dave Evans began his NYC life experience filling in for Kelly Choi on Eat Out with Time Out. Trained as a documentary filmmaker, Dave's connection to the City runs deep.  Born and raised in Brooklyn, Dave has a background as a musician, a photographer, a painter, a cook and he is also extremely inquisitive. In$9.99, Dave channels that energy discovering all of New York’s best-kept secrets, and he's doing it on the cheap.

“New Yorkers who know about great deals should be on the lookout for the $9.99 team in their neighborhood,” said Dave Evans, host of $9.99. “So many small businesses with good deals around the City are going to be getting surprise visits. We want to shine a spotlight on those businesses and I am proud to be a part of that. Coming to NYC life to help make this show is really an honor and a blast.”

Episodes of $9.99 as well as weekly short-form segments called the $9.99 Minute will also be available online after they air on the NYC Media Video on Demand Player: nyc.gov/vod.
