Public Hearings and Public Meetings are held on Tuesdays at the Landmarks Preservation Commission public hearing room at 1 Centre Street, unless otherwise noted. Certificate of Appropriateness Public Hearing agendas, listing the items scheduled to be heard for a particular day, are usually posted on the Commission’s web site about three weeks before the day of the hearing. The public is invited to attend and comment on items scheduled for Public Hearings. Certificate of Appropriateness Public Meeting agendas are usually posted during the week preceding the Meeting; the public is invited to attend. Presentation materials for Public Hearing items are available for public review at the Commission’s offices on the Friday preceding the hearing. After the Commission votes to approve, approve with modifications, or deny an item, the actions are posted in the calendar. When the formal determination is issued, the full text of the determination will be posted at Citylaw.
Please note that items scheduled for Public Hearings are being presented to the Commissioners for the first time. Items scheduled for Public Meetings have been publicly heard and presented to the Commissioners already, but no determination has been made. These applications are frequently presented in response to the Commissioners’ comments or requests for additional information.
