To check the status of an application, please email info@lpc.nyc.gov or call 212-669-7817. Please note our review process is
typically 20-30 working days. If
additional information is needed or your permit is ready for pickup, you will be
contacted by Commission staff.
If you would like to purchase copies of designation reports or audio from
a public hearing or meeting, please fill out and submit a Records
Access Request form, found here
. These requests are typically
answered within one week.
If you would like
to review the Commissions records, please fill out and submit a Records

Commission's records may take 4-6 weeks
to answer. You will be
contacted by Commission staff to schedule an appointment to view the files at a
mutually convenient time.
To request a landmark status letter, please fax your
request to 212-669-3844. Please include the borough, block, lot,
and address of the property in question on your company letterhead. Letters can take up four
weeks to issue and will be mailed out.

The Municipal Building is very well served by subway. The 4/5/6 Brooklyn
Bridge Station and the J/M/Z Chambers Street are directly below the Municipal
Building. The A/C/E and 1/2/3 all stop further west on Chambers Street. The City
Hall stop for the R & W trains is also close by. A number of buses also

Normal business hours are from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, except holidays.
If you are planning to visit the agency, please make sure to bring two forms of photo ID.
