The LMEC works to promote economic development for Hispanic advertising and new media companies, creates and supports events that are an experience and a destination for people around the world, and partners with businesses, professional associations and educational institutions to develop the local media and entertainment workforce.

March 28, 2013 - At a special ribbon-cutting ceremony, Mayor Michael Bloomberg welcomed “Minuto Para Ganar” – MundoFox’s game show – as the first Spanish-language production to be a part of the City’s “Made in NY” initiative, which supports and encourages television and film productions that shoot the majority of their projects in New York City. The ceremony, which took place at the show’s new home on the Upper West Side, also included host Marco Antonio Regil and Media & Entertainment Commissioner Katherine Oliver.
