President, Tonio Burgos & Associates
Mr. Burgos is the President of Tonio Burgos & Associates (TB&A.) With almost four decades of government, civic involvement and legislative affairs experience, Tonio Burgos is one of the most experienced and insightful consultants in the tri-state region working with a wide range of clients in the public and private sectors.
In 1995, President William J. Clinton appointed him to the Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS. In the mid 1990's, New York Governor George Pataki appointed him as a member of the Advisory Committee of Lower Manhattan Economic Development Corporation on Transportation issues. In 2002, New Jersey Governor Jim McGreevey appointed Mr. Burgos Vice Chairman of the New Jersey Economic Development Authority and a member of the School Construction Corporation. He was also the Treasurer of the Camden Economic Recovery Board, as well as a Commissioner of the Israel Trade Commission.
In the 1970's he served as Secretary of New York State under Lieutenant Governor Mario Cuomo, and in 1983 New York Governor Mario Cuomo appointed him as Director of Executive Services
He is a member of the New York City Partnership, the Board of New York City & Company and its Executive Committee, New York Building Congress Foundation and the Governor's Island Advisory Committee. Additionally, he serves on the Steering Committee of the Association for Better New York (ABNY) and is a Governor of the New York Building Foundation.
He serves on the Board of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute and is a member of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) of New Jersey. Mr. Burgos is an active leader in many civic organizations and causes.
