JEFFREY THOMPSON
Vice President of Global Diversity, Walt Disney

Jeffrey L. Thompson is Vice-President, Global Diversity at The Walt Disney Company.  In September 2007, Jeffrey was appointed to the newly created executive position charged with building Disney's Global Diversity Strategy and increasing the company's ability to provide diverse content offerings while also creating a workforce that reflects the significant culturally diversity of the communities Disney serves. 

Mr. Thompson has been involved in structuring, implementing and managing strategic alliances and corporate strategies.  He served in the Corporate Alliances group, acting as a lead member of the team that implemented and managed strategic alliances, including the largest alliance in Disney's history.  He also had had responsibility for technology alliances globally and worked on key initiatives with ABC, ESPN, Buena Vista Pictures, Miramax and ABC Cable Networks in Asia, Europe and North America. 

In 2006, Jeffrey co-produced Schooled, an ABC Family back-to-school special developed specifically for viewing on broadcast and emerging media platforms, particularly online and mobile platforms.  The show had seven million viewers, with two-thirds viewing online.  He served on an industry-wide High Definition Task Force challenged with increasing the adoption rate of HD in North America. In addition, he has worked within Disney to speed adoption of the Blu-Ray High Definition disc format in the U.S.

Prior to his post at Disney, he handled marketing, management and finance, including professional roles within ARAMARK Corporation, GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals, and AT&T. 

Mr. Thompson received a B.A. in economics from the University of Southern California, and an M.B.A. from the USC Marshall Graduate School of Business.  He also completed an executive development program at Harvard Business School.
