President, Above the Title Entertainment LLC
Mr. Bernstein is the President of Above the Title Entertainment LL, a Broadway and television production company and marketing consultancy.
As president of the League of American Theatres and Producers for 11 years, he developed and led many important initiatives. They included: ACT II, a conference on theatre at Harvard; Kids' Night on Broadway; Broadway on Broadway concert into a national television program that he Executive Produced; Broadway Under the Stars, a summer music event that is televised locally every June on WCBS (Executive Producer); and a marketing program to attract Broadway sponsors that has resulted in cash and measurable in-kind support of $135MM over ten years.
Prior to his post at the League, Mr. Bernstein worked for 16 years at Ogilvy and Mather Advertising where he created some of the most noteworthy, effective and memorable marketing campaigns of recent times. While at Ogilvy, he and his composer and writer brother founded Steenstine Productions. Through this production company, they produced and directed corporate entertainment and industrial shows for clients such as Reebok, Goldman Sachs, American Express, Forstmann-Little, the 1992 Democratic National Convention's Host Committee, and the Inner Circle Charity shows for Mayors Dinkins and Bloomberg.
Mr. Bernstein has a special interest in mentoring and giving back to the community. For the past six years, he has lectured at Yale University's School of Management and the Yale School of Drama. He serves on the boards of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids and The Actor's Fund.
Mr. Bernstein received a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Yale University.
