I joined the Law Department after clerking for a U.S. District Court judge and working as a general litigator at Proskauer Rose. As a City appeals attorney, I've handled cases involving the Fourth Amendment (random bag inspections on the subway system); Operation Refusal (i.e., the rules forbidding taxi drivers to deny service on the basis of race); and a proposed expansion of tort liability to non-parties who accidentally dispose of potential evidence. For each of these cases, and dozens more, I've reviewed the appellate record, researched the law, written a brief (or two), and conducted the oral argument, in either state or federal appellate court.
