Immediately upon graduation, I joined the Family Court Division, Brooklyn. As an Assistant Corporation Counsel in the Family Court Division I prosecute juvenile crimes. Included in this is interviewing police officers, interviewing victims and crimes, and working to determine the most appropriate services for the juvenile respondent.
Although I have only been her a few months, I already have a caseload of over 30 respondents and have appeared in court numerous times. I wanted to work for the city because throughout college, post-college, and law school I have been dedicated to public service. I specifically chose the Law Department because of the skills and opportunities a new lawyer gains almost immediately after beginning work, as demonstrated by my own experience described above.
