I began working for the Law Department in the Juvenile Delinquency Unit of the Family Court Division immediately after law school, and have prosecuted juveniles charged with manslaughter, robbery, assault, weapons and narcotics possession/sale, burglary, larceny, and auto theft. This includes interviewing crime victims/witnesses and law enforcement officials, and drafting depositions and motions which culminate in the presentment of cases in Family Court from inception through sentencing, including plea negotiations, and suppression and sentencing hearings. In working to protect the community as well as help juvenile delinquents get on the right track, working in the Family Court Division allows you to play a part in doing justice on an almost daily basis.

As a supervisor for more than 6 years, I have been assigned to our offices in the Bronx, Brooklyn and Manhattan, where I have maintained a small caseload and supervised other attorneys and support staff. In addition to being involved in a number of exciting cases and legal issues, I served as county coordinator for CJIS (Comprehensive Justice Information System), the city-wide computer system that tracks juveniles charged with crimes. I have also represented the office in intra-agency working groups, including DataShare which involves approximately 20 criminal justice stakeholders in New York City.

Since late 2005, I have served as the Division’s Project Manager for LawManager, a new case-tracking system which replaced CJIS, as well as provided a case management system for the Division’s Child Support Unit. In this role, I work with consultants and technical staff to oversee the design, development, and roll-out, including training, of the new system for the Division.
