Immediately upon graduation from law school, I joined the Family Court Division of the Law Department. I spent two years prosecuting juvenile delinquency cases which included drafting accusatory instruments, arguing suppression motions, doing suppression hearings and trials. I also represented the Department of Probation on numerous violation of probation hearings. During my first two years in the Family Court Division I was able to bring approximately 40-50 cases to trial and did numerous pre-trial hearings.
I then joined the Tort Division of the Law Department where I was fortunate to have the opportunity to represent the City at trial on four personal injury cases. Two of those cases went to verdict. The cases I tried were false arrest, malicious prosecution and excessive force cases. I have enjoyed my time at the Law Department because I have been able to improve my litigation skills during my time here.
