Summer Honors Program - Application Process

The Law Department participates in the on-campus interviewing process at more than 40 law schools and job fairs. Second-year law students interested in applying for the Summer Honors Program should submit their resumes through their school's on-campus interviewing process if possible. Students who are unable to do so should write to us directly after August 1. There is no final application deadline. Hiring decisions are made on a rolling basis with most offers being extended prior to March 31.

Applications should include a cover letter, resume, writing samples and law school transcript. If a candidate is called in for interviews, we will ask for references at that time. Applicants are advised to discuss their division preferences in their cover letters.

Applications from first-year law students should be sent after December 1. Where available, we prefer to see first-semester grades. The Law Department interviews first-year law students at several on-campus interview days and Spring job fairs.

Please note that currently our Tort, Family Court, Workers' Compensation, and Commercial and Real Estate Litigation Divisions are still accepting applications for summer 2014.

Applications should be sent through our online application process, addressed to:

Director of Legal Recruitment

Any questions may be sent to recruitment@law.nyc.gov.
