Dr. Komal Bajaj is a member of the Faculty at the Institute for Medical Simulation and Advanced Learning and an Assistant Professor at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She is the sole OB-GYN member of the Faculty and her responsibilities at IMSAL include the development and execution of all inter-disciplinary OB-GYN courses. Rooted in fundamentals of adult learning theory, the courses are geared towards improved patient safety and enhancing team performance. One of these courses, Shoulder Dystocia Teamwork and Skills, was acknowledged by Joint Commission as a “Best Practice”. Dr. Bajaj’s simulation interests include in-situ drills, debriefing complex clinical scenarios and ultrasound based simulation.
Dr. Bajaj attended Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine and completed her OB-GYN residency training at Northwestern University, followed by a fellowship in Medical Genetics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She is a board-certified OB-GYN physician and board-certified clinical geneticist who works at the North Bronx Healthcare Network. Dr. Bajaj is a graduate of the Institute for Medical Simulation’s Instructor Training Course.
