100 Free/Cheap Things to Do

Storytime in the City

Look around and you'll notice that the city is full of libraries and bookstores. And, luckily for us dads, many of those book havens offer free story reading time for children. Some bookstores provide characters in costume, others serve snacks, but all provide an enriching experience in which your kids can get lost in a story. And you? You are free to listen in, browse the store, or just kick back and enjoy a quiet hour with the kids. (Just make sure the books being read are appropriate for your child's age-you don't want her to be bored or lost.)
