Available Training/Educational Programs

Welcome to HRA's List of Available Training/Educational Programs

This listing is comprised of locally based colleges, schools and training programs that are approved by HRA for enrollment by eligible Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF), Safety Net Cash Assistance (SNCA), Safety Net Non-Cash (SNNC) participants. All participants must be aware that HRA will not cover the cost of tuition, books and fees for these programs.

Participants must discuss their request for acceptance into a program with their Job Opportunity Specialist/Training Assessment Group (JOS/TAG) Worker. Please be aware that four year programs can not count towards allowable training or work activity hours. HRA does allow some of the hours of a two year program to be counted toward allowable training hours.

Participant's approval for enrollment is based on a number of factors including:

  • Program must be in accordance with the participant's Employment Plan.
  • Participant must meet minimum education requirements as determined by the Total Adult Basic Education (TABE) test scores.
  • Program does not conflict with mandated work requirements.
  • Participant's prior training program performance has been evaluated.

Only training/educational programs on this list can be counted towards HRA's mandatory work requirements.
