Welcome to the Web Page for HRA/DSS-approved listing of Educational & Training Programs
This listing serves as a guide to locally based colleges, schools and training programs that are approved by HRA/DSS for enrollment by eligible Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF or TANF converted) participants. Safety Net (SN) participants may enroll in these programs on their own time, but the hours cannot be counted toward a work activity. All participants must be aware that if a program approves them for enrollment, HRA/DSS will not cover the cost of tuition. They, themselves, must secure financial aid grants and/or student loans to pay for their tuition.
Participants must discuss their request for acceptance into a program with their Job Opportunity Specialist / Training Assessement Group (JOS/TAG) Worker in order to obtain an approved schedule of hours for allowable training and work activities.
Please note that if an educational/training program is not include in this listing, it is not approved by HRA.
