The New York City Human Resources Administration/Department of Social Services (HRA/DSS) is a vital entity which brings critical human services to individuals and families throughout the five boroughs. The agency provides temporary help to people with social service and economic needs in order to assist them in reaching their maximum level of self sufficiency.
HRA serves almost three million New Yorkers each year through the effective administration of programs and services including: temporary cash assistance, public health insurance, food stamps, home care for seniors and the disabled, adult protective services, domestic violence services, HIV/AIDS support services, and child support enforcement.
