The following four HRA sites are currently closed. 260 11th Avenue 462 First Avenue (Bellevue) 2 Washington Street 180 Water Street All other HRA sites will be open for business as usual. If your site is open, you are directed to report to your assigned work location. Please call 718.246.7659 and listen to your RA/RC specific message. Staff assigned to 2 Washington Street or 180 Water Street should report to a Job Center or Food Stamp office specified at www.NYC.gov/hra/staff unless otherwise directed by your supervisor, HRA management, or if you have been assigned a shift at an emergency shelter.

Staff message for November 6, 2012 Tuesday, November 6 is election day. Unless otherwise directed, HRA staff do not have to report for work. Staff message for November 5, 2012 The following HRA sites will be closed on Monday, November 5th, 2012. Coney Island Center – 3030-3050 West 21st Street All other HRA sites will be open for business as usual. If your site is open, you are directed to report to your assigned work location. Please listen to your RA/RC specific message on the HRA Staff Emergency phone number at 718-246-7659 for specific directions. Staff assigned to 2 Washington Street or 180 Water Street should report to a Job Center or Food Stamp office specified at this link unless otherwise directed by your supervisor, HRA management, or if you have been assigned a shift at an emergency shelter. This message is for Saturday November, 3 and Sunday November, 4, 2012 New York City continues to recover from the effects of Hurricane Sandy and many New Yorkers are in need of HRA and other City Agency assistance. If you are scheduled to work Saturday or Sunday, please report for duty at your location, if that location has power. Please listen to your RA/RC message for more information at 718.246.7659. Also, HRA is operating the City's Disaster Assistance Centers which are called "DASC's." There are temporary sites located in Staten Island, Rockaway and Coney Island that are currently open until larger centers are in operation. Please be ready to assist as requested by your manager, at one of these temporary sites on Saturday and/or Sunday. As power is being restored, we expect updated information over the weekend so please make sure to call again for further updates before Monday. Information for Friday, November 2, 2012 All HRA offices that have power OR are NOT located in Zone A or the Rockaways, will be opened Friday, November 2, 2012. If your current work location is closed, you must go to a city emergency shelter for your regular work day (see list below) or use your leave time as appropriate. Please note that the number of emergency shelters has been reduced. Please call 311 or go to www.NYC.gov for the most-up-to-date list of sites. If your site is not open and you are not reassigned it is critical that you help at the shelters -- especially for night time shifts. Be sure to check the staff emergency hotline at 718.246.7659 and check your RA/RC specific information for updates. Shelters with need for staffing Bronx Manhattan This message concerns HRA offices for Thursday, November 1, 2012 All HRA offices that have power OR are NOT located in Zone A or the Rockaways, will be opened Thursday, November 1st. If your site is open, we need you to do your best to show up and serve New Yorkers in need. We are working as hard as we can to get all our sites operational as soon as possible but it is going to be another day where certain facilities will not be open. It is critical that staff listen for specific instruction from your RA/RC on the staff hotline at 718-246-7659 for the most up-to-date information. All employees who cannot report to their regular work location must go to a city emergency shelter for their regular work day or use their leave time as appropriate. If your site is down and you are not reassigned I again ask that you help at shelters especially in night time shifts. Please call 311 for shelter locations. As of 9:30 pm, Tuesday, October 30. This message concerns HRA offices for Wednesday, Oct 31, 2012. Congratulations and thanks to all of you for all your work during these difficult days. The Mayor was very happy to cite HRA as an example of his charge that the City never stops, and aspires to always be there. All HRA offices that have power OR are NOT located in Zone A or the Rockaways, will be opened Wednesday Oct 31st. If your site is open, we need you to do your best to show up and serve New Yorkers in need. The demand is only going to get greater. We are working as hard as we can to get all our sites operational as soon as possible but it is going to be another day where certain of our facilities will not be open. HRA offices which are NOT located in Zone A or the Rockaways, will be opened Tuesday Oct 30th. Employees should not take undo risks in traveling to work but are expected to report for duty. Please make your way to your assigned site. For Zone A locations, including 180 Water Street and 2 Washington Street, please follow instructions on emergency for your RA/RC on the staff emergency phone line at (718) 246-7659. In general, employees at 180 Water Street and 2 Washington Street must redploy as outlined below, report to an emergency shelter location, or use leave time as appropriate. For all staff, if the MTA shut down presents a transportation hardship for you to get to your work location, you must either report to an emergency city shelter as outlined above or use your leave time as appropriate. Thank you for your public service during a challenging time for our City.
If you signed up to volunteer to assist at these sites you should have already been contacted by OEM asking you to report to a site. Please respond to OEM and go to your locations. Staff will be paid according to their collective bargaining agreement and we need their help to make sure the evacuation sites are run in a safe and secure manner. If you did not previously sign up - we still need your help starting tomorrow at 8am! Please review this link of shelters and report to the shelter closest to you. HRA staff is expected to report to work on Monday for business as usual. However, to keep you updated during citywide emergency situations, you can check this page, or call HRA's Staff Emergency phone number at 718-246-7659, to access general Agency information. You will also be prompted to hear information for your specific RA/RC—especially frontline and field staff (for example, "press 1# for FIA"; "press 2#, for MICSA"; etc.). It is important to listen to information in your program area in the event there are location changes, among other important information. Should the shelter system be activated and you receive direct instructions from SAHANA, the City's shelter management system, it is your obligation to report for your assignment and you will be compensated accordingly.
