HRA Clients to Find Work as MTA Electrician Helpers
HRA’s Employment Services program recently began an effort to find qualified HRA clients and train them to work as MTA electrician helpers. Cash assistance and food stamp clients with the right qualifications will be referred to the program, along with unemployed noncustodial parents referred by the Office of Child Support Enforcement.

The Fatherhood Re-entry Program is specifically created for low-income non-custodial fathers who have had involvement with the legal system and who have difficulty becoming employed. The program helps enrollees enter the labor marker and to reconnect financially and emotionally with their children.

October 2009 Caseload Numbers
In October of 2009 we had an overall increase of 7,269 persons in the Cash Assistance Caseload, bringing the total 355,459 persons. There were increases of 3,277 persons in Family Assistance, 2,329 persons in Safety Net, and 1,663 persons in 60 Mo. Converted to SN.
