The New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) announces that applications are now available for thirty-two affordable housing rental apartments now under rehabilitation at 958 Prospect Avenue and 870 Longwood Avenue in the Morrisania section of the Bronx.

Fifteen one-bedroom apartments are reserved for very low-income households (annual household income between $21,680 - $25,120), five one-bedroom apartments are reserved for low-income households ($26,400 - $30,120), and twelve two-bedroom apartments are reserved for low-income households ($31,760 - $37,680). Income requirements may vary depending on family size. Applicants will be required to meet income and additional selection criteria. Log on to for more information.

Applications must be requested by mail from: Longwood Apartments, C/O SOBRO, 555 Bergen Avenue, Bronx, NY 10455. Please include a self-addressed stamped envelope with the request for application.

Completed applications must be returned by regular mail only to the post office box number that will be listed with the application, and must be postmarked by September 29, 2003. Applications will be selected by lottery. Eligible applications residing in Bronx Community Board 2 will receive priority for half of the units.
