Assistant Commissioner – Budget – Job Opening # 158300
The Assistant Commissioner (AC) of Budget position offers the unique opportunity to be in the vanguard of affordable housing development within the nation’s largest and most influential municipal housing agency. Through the implementation of Housing New York, the Mayor’s plan for a livable New York City, HPD intends to preserve and create 200,000 units of affordable housing in the next 10 years. The Budget Division is charged with allocating resources throughout the agency to support this critically important mission. Reporting to the Deputy Commissioner for Financial Management, the AC oversees the management of the agency’s Expense, Capital, and Revenue budgets.  HPD’s operational and capital funding totals over $1 billion annually. The AC is the prime liaison with the City’s Office of Management and Budget concerning the management of HPD’s budget.
