Wythe Avenue Firehouse Redevelopment RFP
New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (“HPD”) and New York City Economic Development Corporation (“NYCEDC”) are jointly seeking proposals for the rehabilitation and redevelopment of the former Wythe Avenue Firehouse (the “Site”) located at 134 Wythe Avenue in Brooklyn, New York. The purpose of this Request for Proposals (“RFP”) is to solicit proposals from prospective respondents (“Respondents”) interested in purchasing and redeveloping the Site as a community and/or cultural facility. Potential acceptable Respondents for the Site, include not-for-profit community entities and not-for-profit cultural institutions that provide the following general functions and programming:
• Not-for-Profit Community Entities: Real Estate Services and Home Improvement Assistance; Health, Safety and Human Services; Community Advocacy and Education; Workforce Development; and Historic Preservation.
• Not-for-Profit Cultural Institutions: Visual, Performing, Media and Other Arts Groups.
The redeveloped Site may provide office, workshop, classroom and multi-purpose space; community exhibition and meeting space; performance and rehearsal space, among other uses.
HPD and NYCEDC plan to select a consultant on the basis of factors stated in the RFP which include, but are not limited to: the quality of the proposal, experience of key staff identified in the proposal, experience and quality of any subcontractors proposed, demonstrated successful experience in performing services similar to those encompassed in the RFP, and the proposed fee.
