Dental Care

Reduced Cost Dental Treatment
For information about reduced-cost dental treatment, contact one of the listed dental clinics or centers.

Community Health Centers also provide dental care on a sliding fee scale. Centers vary in range of services provided. Please contact the center in which you are interested to verify offered dental services as well as location and hours of operation.

 

Prescription Drugs

  • BigAppleRx is the City of New York's official prescription discount card developed to help NYC consumers save on their medication costs.  It provides discounts averaging 47%; 15% average on brand-name drugs and 53% on generic drugs.  The card is free and available to everyone, regardless of age, income, citizenship or health insurance status.

  • Needymeds.com contains information on drug companies' patient assistance programs which provide free prescription medications to people who have no insurance and qualify for their programs.

  • New York Prescription Saver Card is a pharmacy discount card sponsored by New York State that can lower the cost of your prescriptions by as much as 60% on generics and 30% on brand name drugs.

  • New York Rx Card.com is a free prescription discount card for New York City residents providing savings on both brand and generic medications, offering savings as high as 75%, with an average savings of 30%. 

  • RxAssist provides information on private programs offering free and low-cost prescription drugs. The website can be searched by drug manufacturer, brand name, generic name, or drug class.

  • Partnership for Prescription Assistance provides information in both English and Spanish on public and private programs offering free and low-cost prescription drugs to lower-income individuals. Users fill out a brief on-line survey that allows them to search for multiple prescription drugs at once, and the site directs them to patient assistance programs for which they might be eligible. You can also call (888) 477-2669 between 8 AM and 10 PM to speak to a trained specialist.

  • RxHope provides detailed information on public and private programs offering free and low-cost prescription drugs. Many applications for drug programs are also available on this site and can be filled out online.

  • Together Rx Access provides information in both English and Spanish on a free prescription savings program available to eligible residents of the US and Puerto Rico with no prescription drug coverage and who are not eligible for Medicare.  You can visit the website or call 1-800-444-4106 for more information.

Mental Health Services

1-800-LIFENET is a confidential, toll-free help line for New York City residents. The hotline's staff of mental health professionals helps callers find the most appropriate mental health and substance abuse services for their needs. This line is operated by the Mental Health Association of New York City in partnership with the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. LIFENET operates 24 hours per day/7 days per week and offers separate toll lines for Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese and Korean:

The HITE network provides social service providers with an internet-based resource tool to link their clients to a wide range of health care services and programs, including dental and vision services, prescription drugs, and mental health and substance abuse services.
