|  OCHIA and the Office of the Mayor have worked to make health insurance for domestic partners more accessible for New York City's small businesses. As a result of these efforts begun in 2004, today all health insurers in New York City have voluntarily made domestic partner coverage available to the City’s small businesses with 2-50 employees. In 2005 Mayor Bloomberg signed Executive Order 72, which directed OCHIA to promote the availability of domestic partner coverage and to encourage City vendors and other businesses to provide coverage to spouses and domestic partners on an equal basis.
