public health insurance

New York State's comprehensive public health insurance programs include Child Health Plus, Family Health Plus, and Medicaid.  These programs have varying eligibility requirements based on income, assets, immigration status, and other factors.

If you are recently unemployed and are uninsured, you and/or your family members can enroll in public health insurance programs even if you have access to COBRA coverage or other non-employer-based private insurance, assuming you meet all other eligibility requirements.
