Starting January 2014, sole proprietors will have to get coverage in the individual market, either on or off NY State of Health, The Official Health Plan Marketplace.
- If you have health insurance through either of the following options, you will need to look for a new plan.
- Healthy New York coverage for individuals and sole proprietors will no longer be available after December 31, 2013.
A select number of insurance companies currently offer health insurance plans specifically designed for sole proprietors, which will not be renewable next year.
