![]() Sea View Hospital Rehabilitation Center & Home has developed a 38-bed unit for residents with Alzheimer's disease and related dementia disorders in its nursing facility. Therapeutic programming is coordinated by Mental Health Services and includes Nursing, Social Services, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Activities. These departments participate in a structured residential day program, which runs from Monday through Saturday. Treatment goals include sharpening cognitive functioning, orientation, and socialization, as well as enhancing residents' behaviors to the highest socially appropriate level possible. The unit provides purposeful activity, consistency, and structure to residents through the day program, individualized treatment plans, and teamwork approach.
