QUEENS HOSPITAL CENTER NEONATAL INTENSIVE CARE UNIT

Queens Hospital Center supervises approximately 2,000 deliveries each year. With the advent of the new hospital, it now contains a state-of-the-art labor and delivery suite featuring five birthing rooms, two rooms for caesarian deliveries, one family room and a special Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. There is also a Level III Nursery that allows bonding of mother and baby in private postpartum rooms. This new wing of the hospital is part of the Women's Center of Excellence, which provides primary and preventive continuity of care throughout a lifetime in one location.

A full range of service is offered including genetic counseling, advanced ultrasonography, prenatal care, and management of high-risk pregnancy and pregnancy complications, from simple to complex. Expert care is provided through an organized system of caregivers including nurse midwives, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, resident physicians, attending physicians (including OB-GYN and family practice physicians), as well as maternal-fetal medicine specialists. The Center accommodates the needs of working women by having evening clinics and employing multilingual providers in a culturally sensitive environment.
