Inpatient
Services:
Based on our policy to provide the most
effective and cost-efficient treatment within the least restrictive
environment, the IP Service provides acute hospitalization
for those patients who have been fully assessed and require
intensive treatment to become safely stabilized. Comprehensive
discharge planning ensures appropriate and coordinated linkage
to aftercare services.
Treatment includes medication; individual, group, couples,
family and milieu therapy; substance abuse treatment and acupuncture.
ECT is also available at Jacobi. Activity therapy with a vocational
and psychoeducational focus is also provided. Treatment focus
is cognitive-behavioral, pragmatic and problem solving, and
solution-oriented. Staff includes psychiatrists, psychologists,
nurses, social workers and activity therapists. Treatment
teams are multidisciplinary with focus on evaluating and treating
the presenting problem by briefest and most effective means.
Special
Needs Program:
Acute Crisis Intervention Unit for patients
needing brief, focused, short-term "crisis" individual and
family therapy.
