Welcome to our brochure describing the psychology Internship program at North Central Bronx Hospital and Jacobi Medical Center.
Our name, the "North Bronx Healthcare Network" reflects the reorganization which took place in the Fall of 1997, in which North Central Bronx Hospital (NCBH) and Jacobi Medical Center (JMC), both New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation facilities, were unified under a common administrative structure. The Network maintains its academic affiliation with the Albert Einstein College of Medicine
The Psychiatry Departments of NCBH and JMC were unified into the Behavioral Healthcare Services under the chairmanship of Arnold Merriam, M.D. In January 1998, the decision was made to expand the NCBH Internship training program to the Jacobi Medical Center. Five intern lines were funded and a second training site was born (actually reborn, as Jacobi was until the early nineties the site of a very fine training program). We now have 13 Internship positions, six at NCBH and seven at JMC.
