MetroPlus Health Plan Rated Number One For Quality of Care and Patient Satisfaction
#1 Medicaid Managed Care Plan in New York City for Six Out of the Last Seven Years
New York, NY – MetroPlus Health Plan, Inc., the 417,000 member Medicaid Managed Care health plan of the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation, has again rated number one in New York City based on quality and patient satisfaction indicators measured by the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH).
The rankings were released this week in the NYSDOH 2011 Consumer’s Guide to Medicaid Managed Care in New York City and shows MetroPlus as the top favored plan among New York City’s 10 Medicaid Managed Care plans. MetroPlus has been the number one plan for six out of the last seven years. The ratings are based on measures including plans’ preventive and well-care for adults and children; quality of care provided to members with chronic illnesses and patient satisfaction with access and service.
“We are pleased that our members are highly satisfied with us,” said Arnold Saperstein, MD, President and CEO of MetroPlus. “This recognition is a reflection of our never-ending commitment to provide our members with access to the highest quality, cost-effective healthcare.”
