HHC applauds Governor David Paterson, Senate Majority Leader Joseph Bruno and Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver for developing a budget that, despite the significant economic challenges faced by the state, assures the continuation of a strong healthcare safety net for all New Yorkers. This budget enables HHC to remain on course to expand treatment of chronic illness, invest in our workforce and provide high quality, safe care to the 1.3 million New Yorkers we serve every year.

We believe that State leadership has laid the groundwork for real patient-centered reforms by making investments in outpatient services and the Doctors Across New York program, which will assist primary care physicians to continue serving patients in high need, underserved communities across the state.
