QUEENS HEALTH NETWORK CHILD HEALTH CLINICS MERGE WITH JUNCTION BOULEVARD DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH IMMUNIZATION CLINIC

Vital Service Now Offered at Several Convenient Locations

Elmhurst, New York, August 20, 2003 --- The Queens Health Network (a member of the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation) and the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene have forged a partnership that will make it easier for children in the borough to receive immunizations. Parents will now be able to take their children between the ages of four and eighteen years of age to several convenient locations in Astoria, Corona, Jackson Heights, Ridgewood and Woodside.

“We are pleased to bring immunizations to the doorsteps of the children in our community,” said Pete Velez, Senior Vice President of Queens Health Network (QHN). “We look forward to serving a greater number of children with this essential service and are eager to assist eligible patients in completing applications for Medicaid and Child Health Plus. Providing access to quality healthcare for children who do not have a primary care physician is our primary goal.”

The timing of the merge is fortunate. With ample time remaining before the school year begins, parents can choose from several sites to ensure that their children are up-to-date with required vaccinations.

Walk-ins are welcome, but scheduled appointments are recommended for prompt service. Immunizations are provided at no cost to uninsured patients. The following medical centers operate during the hours indicated:
