Cumberland Diagnostic and Treatment Center Opens Newly Renovated Medical and Dental Suites

Upgrade Funded by New York State HEAL Grant

Brooklyn, NY -- Cumberland Diagnostic and Treatment Center today introduced their newly renovated space to expand primary care services to the communities of North Brooklyn. The new space consists of an upgraded Dental Clinic and enhanced Adult Medicine service.

The renovations include installation of state-of-the-art dental and medical equipment, new patient reception and nursing areas, and new exam rooms. The suites have been remodeled to offer a more comfortable and friendly environment to enhance the delivery of patient care.

“Our patients are very important to us and these new renovations and amenities will increase Cumberland’s ability to meet the growing healthcare needs of the neighborhoods we serve,” said George M. Proctor, Senior Vice President of the North Brooklyn Health Network. “This new space will enable Cumberland to implement a Patient-Centered Medical Home Model of Care where members of the medical team come to the patient, and provide more coordinated and efficient delivery of care.”

The enhancements include advanced medical equipment, renovated patient registration and reception areas for patient privacy, patient seating that is specially developed for older adults and patients with limited mobility, additional patient care space, dedicated space for education and counseling for chronic disease issues, and new clinical work stations for nurses.

The renovations were made possible through a HEAL (Health Care Efficiency and Affordability Law for New Yorkers) grant of approximately $1 million from the New York State Department of Health, and funding assistance from the Cumberland Auxiliary.
