Life Saving Screenings

Every Tuesday in October, HHC hospitals and clinics throughout New York City hosted events to provide dozens of health screenings to the public at little or no cost including screenings for diabetes, HIV, asthma, cancer, cholesterol and depression. More than 18,500 adults and children attended events throughout all five boroughs and more than 12,500 patients were screened.

HHC President Alan Aviles got a blood pressure screening taken at a Take Care New York event in the Bronx.	Community residents flocked to Take Care New York events in Brooklyn.

Patients were able to get tested on the spot at Take Care New York events throughout the city.	Health care providers screened patients for early signs of diabetes.
