HHC hosted a recent visit from a delegation of the Singapore Ministry of Health, who are looking for new strategies for HIV testing, as well as hepatitis B and C screening.
Over 5,500 adults in Singapore are living with AIDS. The ministry is planning to expand its HIV testing services and was seeking advice from HHC experts at Bellevue, Elmhurst, Harlem, Jacobi and Queens Hospitals.
HHC expanded its HIV testing to reach 134,000 people by the end of the last fiscal year (July 1, 2006 to June 30, 2007) and is within reach of reaching its goal of testing 150,000 patients by the end of calendar year 2007.
