This November Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center opened a two-story glass-faced clinical annex constructed at the front of the hospital at a cost of $7 million. The new Ambulatory Care Pavilion expands the number of treatment rooms to 37 from 29, improving patient flow, reducing lengths of visits, and maximizing patient comfort. After medicine clinics and ambulatory surgery clinics move to the new clinic building, renovation of the existing emergency department will begin. Once completed, the emergency department expansion will provide an elegant walk-in entrance for patients, a private vehicle drop-off, a separate area for ambulance traffic, and the latest medical technology. More than 145,000 patients visit Lincoln's emergency department each year, making it the busiest single-site emergency department in New York City.
