The Centers for Disease Control reported escalating flu activity in New York City and a few other states in late December. Rates of infection and illness are expected to increase in January. But it's not too late to get a flu shot and prevent the spread of the flu virus. HHC hospitals and health centers offer flu shots to patients at little or no cost. If you are an HHC employee, you can get a free flu shot at work to help protect you and your patients. Visit HHC's online flu information center to get learn more and locate an HHC facility near you. For more information about the flu virus and this year's vaccine, you can also visit the CDC website.
