The Centers for Disease Control reported escalating flu activity in New York City and a few other states in late December. Rates of infection and illness are expected to increase in January. But it's not too late to get a flu shot and prevent the spread of the flu virus. HHC hospitals and health centers offer flu shots to patients at little or no cost.
