On her official state working visit to the US, Philippines President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo visited Bellevue Hospital in a special mission to greet the hospital’s Filipino nurses and medical workers. The Bellevue and HHC team of more than 100 staff native to the Philippines served as representatives of a much larger group of US healthcare workers from the Philippines, who are a great source of pride for the county.
Following a brief tour of the Medical Intensive Care Unit, President Arroyo thanked the Filipino health professionals for sharing their expertise and skills, for continuing to preserve their heritage and promote the values of diversity, and for never failing to extend help to their home country.
