An art exhibit featuring more than 30 works by African American artists was mounted from February 21 to March 6 by HHC in the glass-enclosed lobby of the recently redesigned and renovated Bellevue Hospital. The opening reception for the exhibit featured a performance by dancers from the Harlem Hospital Dance Leadership Program and music from Coler-Goldwater's WCGH-FM radio station. Many of the pieces in the art show are part of HHC's extensive art collection, which is deployed to every public hospital throughout New York City. Through its growing art collection, development of art therapy, and other cultural programs in its hospitals, HHC continues to increase focus on the therapeutic value of art in the healing process.
