Good Health Is In Your Hands

HHC kicked off Handwashing Awareness Week in December with a full-fledged campaign at all 20 major facilities to highlight the importance of hand hygiene to prevent infections. Handwashing information stations were set up in high traffic locations to test staff with a Handwashing IQ quiz and provide literature, hand sanitizers and other materials that promote hand hygiene.

The campaign was a great success, enhancing awareness and generating participation and involvement from HHC employees and the public at large. More than 10,000 people – patients and staff -- visited the handwashing information stations and nearly 9,000 took the IQ challenge quiz.
