Nursing at HHC
The HHC Foundation

The philanthropic arm of HHC, the HHC Foundation inspires community philanthropy by raising the awareness of New York City's public hospitals as first responder and safety net for the most vulnerable populations. Through public-private partnerships with corporations, foundations, and individuals, the Foundation helps HHC launch special programs, services and capital projects. Projects include ongoing initiatives at HHC such as Emergency Preparedness Symposiums and a Nursing Leadership Academy designed to address the current nursing shortage, a crisis affecting healthcare organizations not only in New York City, but across the country.

Funds raised by the Foundation support innovative city wide initiatives such as the recent expansion of HHC's Limited English Proficiency Program; the implementation of a Neo-Natal Developmental Care initiative to improve preterm and post term outcomes; the creation of an initiative to strengthen palliative care knowledge and capabilities at HHC facilities and the development of Rapid Response Teams and other patient safety measures.
