Recognized nationally for its excellence in patient care, its contributions to biomedical research and its commitment to training tomorrow’s best physicians, Jacobi Medical Center is a facility where patients can count on state-of-the art medical care, delivered with compassion, dignity and respect.

A long-time academic affiliate of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Jacobi’s reputation for superior medical care has recently been complemented by the opening of a beautiful new inpatient facility. Designed for patient safety and comfort and featuring all the latest in medical technology, the new Jacobi offers attractive and spacious accommodations in private or semi-private rooms. Adult and Pediatric Emergency Departments are specially equipped to handle trauma, critical illness or injury. The new Operating Suite includes all the latest innovations in surgical and laparoscopic equipment. Medical, surgical, cardiac, pediatric, neonatal and burn intensive care units are outfitted with every amenity for superior critical care. A new Cardiac Catheterization Unit provides the best in diagnostic services for cardiac patients. And beautifully-renovated birthing rooms offer families a comfortable environment in which to share this happy time together.

Jacobi’s Emergency Department is a Level 1 Trauma Center, and the only Pediatric Trauma Center in the Bronx or southern Westchester. The Burn Unit is one of just three burn facilities city-wide. The Hyperbaric Medicine Program’s large chamber can comfortably accommodate nine patients at once, and since 1983 has treated more than 3,000 victims of carbon monoxide poisoning – more than any other hospital in the United States. Jacobi is a NYS-designated Regional Perinatal Center – one of an elite group of just 17 such facilities statewide, and operates a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit which has earned national acclaim. Severely ill or injured children receive care in Jacobi’s Pediatric Intensive Care Unit that is second to none. This unit also operates MobileRed, its own pediatric critical care transport team. Jacobi’s NYS-designated Stroke Center features a highly trained team of stroke professionals available round the clock, to deliver the latest in acute stroke treatment.
